Killing Bamboo Experiences is where you can share your stories on how you killed your bamboo with other vititors to this site.
Tell us how you killed it? Were you successful at first attempt? Or did you have to try several methods before you managed to kill the bamboo plants?
Some species of running bamboo plants are prone to getting out of control in the garden, making a nuisance of themselves by growing through your boundary to your neighbouring garden or land. This can lead to all sorts of trouble!
It's a shame because this can often have been avoided if the right species had been chosen at the planting stage. Clumping bamboo is unlikely to cause problems like this, it is the running bamboo that you really only want to plant somewhere if you do actually want it to spread. Such as for a windbreak or privacy screen.
Anyway... if you have successfully killed your bamboo, or unsuccessfully made an attempt at it, please share your experiences with other visitors to this site.
