Over the years we have all done it, become extremely materialistic. Think about all of the items you have sitting around your home to decorate it. You probably have many items that family members have given you and items that you probably thought would look great.
But, now many are finding that there homes are feeling to cluttered and are craving change, but not sure what way to go with the change when it comes to decorating. Many are considering getting rid of tons of stuff and looking into ways of becoming more environmentally friendly. There are lots of great options that are available on the market.
In the beginning you may feel overwhelmed and not know where to begin. Take a look around your home at what you are thinking of changing; you are probably thinking yeah, okay, it's everything. A good way to get started is to write yourself a list. Write down everything you would like to change, this will help give you a better idea and possibly better vision over everything.
Once you have your list, its time to get started. They say it is best to start with an empty room. But, it is not necessary, for one in many cases we usually don't have time to work on everything at once, especially if you are like many of us who work full time and really don't have the time to do so. Your best bet is to move in baby steps.
The first place to start may be your window shades. There are a lot of great window treatments out there but one that is environmentally friendly and works well with most every home is by using window shades that are made out of bamboo. There are wonderful bamboo shades available. There are lots of great deals out there; it will take a little bit of research to find exactly what you want. And if you aren't completely sure, contact the customer service for that particular company to ask any questions you may have.
Now you are on your way to a green decorating environment in your home. Next tackle all the little trinkets you may have.
Let's look at a little information on bamboo shades. As many know bamboo grows quickly and is quite flexible which works great for window shades. The flexibility of the bamboo helps companies create the bamboo into different patterns, textures, etc. Another great thing about bamboo is the fact that it hasn't been treated with any chemicals or man-made products. Some companies may actually stain the bamboo to give it a bit of color, some will use natural dies created from grasses, flowers and more. This is a great way to show people how plants can create such wonderful colors when combined.
Now time to find the perfect bamboo shades for your home. What kind of look are you going for? If it is a more natural warm look, then you will want your shades to be in the natural state of the bamboo. Choosing the color isn't enough though; you will need to make sure that you take proper measurements of your windows so that you get the proper size to fit.
There are many companies out there that manufacture window shades. You will want to first shop around in your town to see what is available in bamboo shades. It is best to first call different places to see if they carry the bamboo shades. This will save you time in the car and helps the environment as well. Good places to check would be your local home improvement centers or even interior design companies in your area. If you live in a small town and these options aren't available, you might want to let your fingers do the walking and look online. There are many great companies that offer great deals on window shades for your home.
