We went fishing with an antique bamboo rod in the sea off '90 Mile Beach', on the North Island of New Zealand in 1992. The rod was on loan while we were on holiday and it certainly proved its worth. An experience I will never forget and certainly one that I had always hoped to repeat in the future.

These fantastic images on the right were taken by my daughter when we returned to New Zealand in October 2008. Trout fishing New Zealand... the water is so clear you can see the fish!
